Depending on who you listen to, We're either a "happy clappy prude" or blind to just just how evil adult porn really is.

Perhaps the truth is somewhere at the center.

Mid not too long ago I set out to confirm handy teenagers were getting seriously injured looking to replicate aspects they'd noticed in online adult movie.

What adopted was an unexpected deep dive into Australia's porn market and a study that reached an inevitable conclusion: we now have a problem.

Now, as a Govt review recommends a radical overhaul of online defense laws (more on that in a minute) here is what I learnt regarding porn with this country.

Lessons 1: It is just a seriously taboo topic
To Australians will be squeamish regarding porn can be an understatement.

As a reporter, I have spoken to people about their experience with just about every sensitive issue imaginable -- from suicide to stillbirths, debilitating disease to indigenous abuse - I thought finding people to discuss their adult use can be easy.
